New object acquisition: Rhizon soil solution sampler, August 2025

We are delighted to have received a new donation for the teaching store: a rhizon soil sampler, kindly donated by Professor Penny Johnes. These pieces of kit are used in soils, to extract water from macropores, the channels in soils, for chemical analyses.

We hope that the evolving collection of curated displays will cultivate deeper shared connections within and beyond our School – inviting us all to encounter, and re-encounter, the geographies we study through tangible, resonant forms.
